Ushguli is a remote community of five medieval villages in Upper Svaneti, recognized as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its exceptional preservation of traditional Svan architecture. Famous for its stone defensive tower-houses dating from the 9th to 12th centuries, it stands as one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe, nestled at the foot of Mount Shkhara.
