rachid karami international fairground

The Rachid Karami International Fairground in Tripoli, Lebanon, stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, embodying mid-20th-century modernist architecture designed by Brazilian visionary Oscar Niemeyer in 1962 and constructed through 1975. This expansive exhibition complex, featuring a striking boomerang-shaped Grand Canopy hall alongside reflective pools and tropical gardens infused with a Brazilian aesthetic, was conceived to host international trade events and symbolize Lebanon's post-independence drive toward modernization and social liberalization.
