ateshgah temple
The Ateshgah Temple, also known as the Fire Temple of Baku, is a historic religious site in Azerbaijan, built in the 17th and 18th centuries. This pentagonal complex, featuring a central altar with a fire fueled by natural gas, served as a place of worship for Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs, reflecting a unique blend of cultural influences. Inscriptions in Persian and Sanskrit highlight its diverse heritage, and it was declared a state historical-architectural reserve in 2007.
